Comments:    Met my current husband (Tom) in Miami while working as a medical transcriber for Peninsular Testing Corp. He was a mechanic at a gas station next door to where I worked. He decided he did not want to be a "grease monkey" anymore and wanted to pursue an Electrical Engineering degree at Purdue University in Indiana.

He took me to Indiana in the summer of 1974 to meet his family. We got married that November. We moved to Indiana in December of 1975 (first time I saw snow) and lived there for 6 years. He graduated cum laude with a BSEE and MSEE and started one semester towards a Ph.D. I also worked at Purdue University starting as a clerk/typist and then worked my way up to Department Head Secretary in the School of Industrial Engr. Both daughters were born in Indiana. We then moved back to Florida in 1982 to be near his family (and also mine). Have lived in Tampa since then.

I worked as a secretary from 1983 to 2005. Now, my husband is self-employed with his computer consulting business. I take care of general office duties and bookkeeping, etc. It is so great not having to commute anymore. Our son (Matt) was born in Tampa in 1991.

Have been blessed with three children and three grandchildren. There were difficult times as teenagers but who doesn't have those moments?

My twin sister, Janice, lived in Tampa for awhile before she decided to move to South Carolina. Miss her a lot but we keep in touch.

School Story:    Really loved those football games and our school band was the greatest!!!

Labor Day weekend 2008 in Englewood, FL. I took this shot from the beach on Sunday while Hurricane Gustav was 300 miles away. Had to use my zoom lens for this one. Notice that Matt is inside the wave that is breaking. Matt is 6'1" and the wave is about 2-3ft above his head. They are both standing at this point, so it gives you an idea of how deep it was. Really scary out there. The undertow was pretty fierce and rough while trying to swim. After I got pulled under a couple of times and didn't know where the surface was, I said I was done and eventually reached the shore. I can't believe my husband and Matt stayed out in that for over an hour. Miracle they didn't get pulled out to sea.
