I was so sad to learn of Ruth Kemp Mock's passing.  I received an email from a friend of hers the day after she passed.  She was way too young to leave this world but God had better plans for her.  She and Randy Besley are probably leading the cheers right now praising God at His throne.  She was one of my cheerleading sisters and I'll always cherish the memories I have of her and the privilege it was to have known her.

Regards and blessings to all,

Linda

David Woods...I just saw your message from 2010.  Your were asking about the Echoes.  We later changed the name to the Echo.  Kenny Ahern played a Kent guitar and I used a Silvertone amp (6-10's).  Bill Kerti was the Bass Player and he did wear glasses but I don't recall him ever sitting down (unless maybe he was sick when you saw him?).  As a matter of fact his nick name was "Wildman" because of his unique stage movements,  Bill passed away a couple of years ago and Don Goodson the last drummer in the band also passed away probably 5 years ago.  I still perform pretty much every night of the week in S. Florida as a single or with other musicians in a band format.  It's nice to hear from you.  I remember we had some classes together.  I hope all is well with you.

Don Fedele, so sorry to hear of your brother's death.  My older brother, Don Farrar, was in the 66 class as well and died.  I know he followed you around for years.  It's getting sad to see all of our classmates succumb to the end of life.  I guess we'll all face it soon enough.  Hopefully not for a long time to come.

Bobby Culbertson, I still celebrate the holidays as well.  We have a large family and always gather for holidays.  I agree, we need days like we had years ago, the world has gotten so complex and stressful.  Does that mean we're getting to be old farts?

Thank you all for your thoughts and condolences.  And thank you Barbara for posting that on the '66/67 page.  Bob was living his dream so to speak in Blowing Rock with his wife Sherri.  It was exactly where and what he wanted to be.  It's really too bad it didn't last longer for him.

Hello Fellow Chiefs,  I am so sorry to hear about all of your family and friend losses.  Life is short and we sometimes forget about the important things in life.  I feel those of us born in 1950 ( around that era) are very lucky.  We took pride in our country.  We realized the sacrifice made by those to insure our freedoms.

As we celebrate and bring Thanksgivng 2013 to a close, let us give thanks to all the blessing God has given us.  Even though life can sometimes give us lemons, we have other things that help us make lemonade.  Our family, friends, health,

our jobs, our homes.  We have been blessed even thought is is hard to see it.

I hope all of you continue to have God's blessing.  We are all getting older and are losing members of our family or friends. I hope we realize that life is precious.  We have to take time to hug, love, laugh,  enjoy and drink the wine.

I am so sorry for all our fellow Chiefs family member losses. May you find peace and understanding with God's help

May God Bless All of You.  May God save our country (we need all the prayers). Much love, Carmen Perez(Perez)

The only UNDEFEATED Chef in History passed on.

My step-dad, Chef Jack Kobrin, who married mom and 3 kids when I was 10, exited our world Nov 24, 2013. He was 91 and had a long life as Chef of many fine Miami Restaurants, including The Castaways, Mike Gordons Seafood, The Eden Roc, Palm Bay Yacht Club and MS Boheme Cruise Ship.

He greatest  years was Chef  in 1971-1975, for the Miami Dolphins, who had a PERFECT season, 17-0 under Coach Don Shula.

Dear classmates,

Please share this Indiegogo link with everyone you know. I'm trying to raise funds to complete a documentary on Dr. Story Musgrave, an in-depth account of a remarkable man, historic astronaut and American champion. Please check out our Indiegogo campaign and be sure to watch the video sample of what more there is to come.  Story has lead such an interesting life despite many obstacles he's had to endure.

Thanks for your support.  every dollar helps.

I agree Artie.  it is a great site.  There was a lot of activity when we had the reunion.  but, haven't ahd one in awhile.  We need one before we lose more people.

Artie,

I think she did a wonderful job to set this up for us and maintain it.  It is up to us to post things on here.

Hi Artie and fellow Chiefs!

I am sorry to say I am guilty of not posting news.....but I love this site.  It is up to us as former classmates to update our profiles...comments and just to say hi.  I am so looking forward to our next Reunion, I live in TN. but would love to help.  I know the same folks are always doing all the work including this site.  Thanks Janice Barrett for setting it up and arranging our Last Reunion...which was Awesome!

I lost my Mom in Dec. of last year, she was 91 and died peacefully.  I miss that little woman so much.  We were very close.  My sisters and I took care of her the last 5 years of her life.  I know I was blessed to have such a great and loving Mom. We actually passed our New Carol City High on the way to the cemetery and was shocked to see such a large, modern school.

My husband, Rich of 42 years and I are now traveling.  We bought an RV and just came back from a month long trip to the West and back.  Had a wonderful time.  I still am in touch with several of my Class of 68 friends.  I feel so lucky to have you in my life.  We have been blessed with a Great Granddaughter, Angel this past year she turned 1....she is the cutest, happiest baby ever!

Wanted to say hello....send hugs to all of you out there that helped to make such great memories at CCHS!

Love,

Vivian (Valdes) Hayward

I agree with Vivian in that Janice did a fabulous job setting up the site and it is up to us to post items of interest to the group.  If you, Artie, hear of something of interest, please post it.  I, too, would like to see another reunion.  I live out of town as well and I know how much work people put into arranging the reunions.  Their work is much appreiated.  As we all age, it would be nice to see everyone.

I think Janice has done an amazing job with this site.  Not to mention the dedication and time spent not only setting it up, but maintaining it.
