Houston, TX, 95 to 100 degrees and humid, plus we are having a drought. So when they say Texas is Hot they mean it.

To all my fellow classmates, enjoy your summer.

Hey Robert,

Not to worry, it's been pretty hot here in Florida too and very dry.  Burn bans are in effect.  Summer just officially started and it feels like it's been summer already for two months.  It's difficult to imagine there is still snow in some places.

Hi Everyone

Does anyone have a year book - 1968. It would be great to have it uploaded to our site. I would be happy to assist or purchase one and upload it.

Quiz, How many students in our graduating class?_______________

Hi Artie

Happy Birthday OLD friend. If anybody can make things happen its you.I most likely won't make it to another reunion but I hope it keeps going. It's just not easy leaving Las Vegas to go any place except to see my daughter and granddaughters. I had to change jobs and don't have vacation time built up any more. Maybe after I retire I will make it back . I just hope you can make it happen and it is as much fun as the ones I was fortunate enough to go to in the past.

Take care Artie. LOL Ruthie Nave Allen

Dear Classmates,

This is unfortunately a notice to all that I recieved news from a classmate of my sister's that sadly Randy Beasley passed away November 1st, 2012.  He had been very ill for quite some time.

Prayers for his family would be appreciated.  I do not know any information regarding his families plans or even who they are.

With sadness,

Vivian Hayward

Thank you Betsy for posting that information.   I learned about Randy's pasing earlier this week when I just by chance saw his brother, Scott's, name pop up under people I might know on Facebook.  I contacted him and asked if he had a brother named Randy who attended Miami Carol City Senior High because I wanted to locate him.  Scott looks very much like Randy.  He informed me yesterday about Randy's passing.  Randy was a good friend of mine and the other cheerleaders and he always was an inspiration to us.  He had tremendous school spirit and he was a wonderful guy and friend.  It is so sad to hear he has left us so early in life and it is so tragic he was sick for such a long time.  My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

So sorry to hear about Randy.  I recall his name, seemed like a nice guy.  I, too, had a brain tumor.  Lucky for me it was benign or I'd have died long ago.  It did leave me with a disability, but I'm still kicking.  Well, 2013 will be our 45th year reunion.  It's so hard to imagine I was just 2 yo old when I graduated...lol  Does anyone know what, if anythng is being planned?  I know at the 40th there was talk of a cruise.  I'd like to know as much ahead of time as possible to try to plan as a cruise can be pretty expensive.  There is a port at Cape Canaveral as well as down south.  or, how about a Disney get together, something out of the South Florida area?  Just ideas I'm throwing out there, something different.  Well, please keep me informed.  I hope everyone has a most joyous holiday season and a great New Year.

Can't find anything on the Internet about MCC being torn down.  I did drive by the school about a year ago and they must have rebuilt it because it is now located in the back field that was empty when we went to school.

I just saw some pictures on Facebook. Go to:  We are the 60's children of North Dade (now Miami Gardens) scroll down and you will see pictures of it.....

I  saw pictures before and after on facebook.  I had pulled the new one.  here it is.  I'll see if I can find the other one.  And, yes, they moved it to the back of the field which makes no sense to move the front of the school to a more heavily traffic area.  And, it wasn't that old.
