How tragic.  He seemed to be recovering so well after his last surgery. I'm so saddened about how many of our classmates have passed. At this time of Thanksgiving, it makes me very thankful for all of my blessings and to even still be able to work (although truth is I'd rather be retired). Bob was a wonderful guy and he will be greatly missed. I pray God will comfort and give his family peace during this very difficult time.  May God bless and keep each one of you and your loved ones safe and healthy during this holiday season.   Love you all, Linda

I remember Bob as being just a great guy to be around; always funny and energetic. I also remember the night in our senior year when I almost killed me, Bob, Mike Proenza and, I think Al Ricketts. We left The Place and I was driving north on I-95 when we came to the exit for The Palmetto Xway at the Cloverleaf. I took the turn doing about 60 mph. The car was tipped on both left wheels, with the right wheels about 2 feet off the ground. It was like a 5 ticket amusement park ride for 30 seconds. Back then we were all invincible! I also remember that Bob's dad was a very accomplished pianist. I sat in the living room and listeded to him on numerous occasions.

Hello fellow chiefs,  I was very sorry to hear about Bill Parr's death.  He was a friend of mine from Homeroom. I always enjoyed his humor, our talks, and smile.  May he rest in peace.

Hello Chief's Janet called me yesterday, she is looking for someone or someones to take over running this site. To be honest That's just not me, I have enought to do with my own site. If you are interested this is you time to step up. I want to form a commitee to start planning your 50th reunion, I type worst than a second grader. Please respond dirrectly to me. al@alrickettsphoto.com so we can talk first, no need for all to read. I have some ideas but I want a concensous first. I just joined some fellow classmate that transfered to Norland this past weekend. They welcomed me as if I were 1 of them, yea I became a honoree Viking 60's Surfer, we all had a blast telllling stories and shared our woes of getting old. we should swt up a tribute to those who have passed, only by the Grace of God I'm still here.

Please give this some thought. Lets make our next one a "ONE 2 Remember". Also thinking of inviting other clas mates that were in school with us from 66-70. We all walked those halls dodging Mr Spencer trying to catch us chewing gum of All Things else we were up to!

Please, Please! Please?

Come On Chiefs Join me.

Thanks in advance

Al (not Albert) that was reserved for my Mother!

Not sure what I can do from Cincinnati, but I would love to help out and get the "50th Reunion" up and running.  Also, helping with the website would be fun but I will definitely need guidance as I am challenged when it comes to computer "stuff."  However, I am married to an IT guy, so I am in good hands(-;

Lets take up a donation for Paula's Husband since he is IT, for services to our site. I am sure Al and I will donate. I know all the efforts in the past to keeping track and revising the website was handled by several of our  classmates but having a person to handle this responsibility whose in the field would be most helpful.

My husband does not maintain websites but he did not say "no" so I suppose that means he will consider looking at it and do what he can to help out.

Albert (Al) Ricketts

Everyone neither I or anyone is trying to hire anyone at this stage to set up and run a website. I'm happy to hear we have volenteers willing to help but that's what we need to do first. I would rather do this by email, where we can work out our needs before we hire a horse, when we dont have a wagon. But we on the right path. Thanks for your efforts, after i hear from Sue I'll get back to each of you this is for a fun event not a business structure.

Thanks Al and Paula for your responses. Just a suggestion to think about, I am a visitor/member of the MCC Class of 1969 and have 2 relatives as grads from that year. They do an exceptional website and it would not hurt to create a similar platform. Did you know the front page of their site has; (see below) so we need some updating on our site.   Your comments most certainly appreciated and well respected. RB

50th Class Reunion

Our 50th Reunion is only 3 years away. Your reunion committee will be seeking your feedback. Watch for an upcoming survey asking for your thoughts and ideas for the upcoming 50th reunion.

Thanks Betsy, great job with Class of 1969 Website, I am sure Dana and Barry are very proud of you. I have been a guest for 10 years and enjoy your updates and "labor of love".

PS Ross Myers (class of 69) my cousin and my sister Sandy (class of 70) attended with me the MCC 1969 Class reunion in 2009 and it was a memorable event with Shirley Gibson, mayor of miami gardens, giving the class a proclamation for its first reunion in 40 years with both black and white classmates. I will never forget that night.

Janis posted this to my e-mail:

Can you believe it's been almost 50 years?  Well, it's time to celebrate and see one another again!

First, we need someone to volunteer to take the lead in organizing and coordinating the Reunion celebration. We also need someone to revamp and update our Class of 68 website. We also need lots of you to help in your own personal way, and I have heard from many of you that are willing to do so.

Please consider these positions and let us know via the website.  Also, make sure you update your profile and notify all members to do the same.  Our new leader will want to survey everyone as to the type of reunion we want:  at a hotel, on a cruise ship, at a local park, or something else?  We need to start now!

Will the next Reunion leader please reveal yourself!

Thanks, and I am looking forward to seeing all of you. I have such fond memories of MCC!! Go Chiefs!

I live in Cocoa along the central east coast of FL.  I'm not well and travel is difficult for me.  However, I can make phone calls and stuff like that.  I do recall a suggestion at our last reunion about a possible cruise.  I live not far from the Cape Canaveral port.  If you do decider on a cruise and it is out of here, I can help with that as i do have some good contacts here.

Yea, Bob I was there with you as well as Mike P. and Bob Rayburn, we had some crazy times together. I still remember those wonderful days from our past. Or the time we were cruising down 27th Ave by Royal Castle, there were a bunch of people sitting on the bus bench, it had been raining the street was flooded, you started laughing before you drove the car into the puddle put a wall of water over those poor unexpecting riders waiting for the bus.  We were headed to Mike P. house for lunch and a few Millers to go. I sure miss all of those days and the times we had as teenagers.

May God watch over us and our families as we grow older, Take comfort and console the families of those who are no longer with us, here on earth.

Happy Thanksgiving to All and our families. May we be Blessed  and Please help those who are less fortunate.

Till we meet again.

Your fellow Chief and Friend

Al
